FACES
OF COYAIMA

Julie and Jérôme open the doors to their finca, perched at 2,000 metres above sea level in the heart of the coffee region. But Casa Coyaima truly exists thanks to those who bring it to life every day: the faces of the valley, neighbours, families, friends passing through, and the teams who work the land, harvest the coffee, cook, build, pass on knowledge and share far more than a skill.

Behind every detail of this place, there are hands, stories and people who give the finca its soul. Some have known these mountains forever, others arrived from further away, but everyone plays a part in bringing this collective project to life — following the rhythm of harvests, seasons, shared meals and the work of the land.

Casa Coyaima was built this way, through encounters and connections created with the valley. More than simply a place to stay, it is a living, deeply human place, where people matter as much as the landscapes.

JOSÉ

José is a true child of the valley and a real force of nature. With him, every path takes on a different meaning: where some people simply see trees or a plant along the trail, he notices a bird in the distance, spots an insect hidden among the leaves, or knows which fruit will be ready in a few days.

He has that instinctive understanding of the living world that cannot really be learned from books. And it often takes only a few minutes in his company to start seeing nature a little differently.

JULIE

A lifelong traveller and curious about what connects people, Julie has always been guided by encounters, unexpected paths and the desire to discover places beyond what a map can show. In love with Colombia, she found there much more than a landscape: an energy, a warmth and a way of life that convinced her to make it home.

Deeply attached to human connections, she imagines Casa Coyaima as a living place where people share moments as much as stories, where exchanges matter as much as landscapes, and where everyone naturally feels they belong.

JEROME

In love with Colombia since the end of his studies, Jérôme has shared a long story with this country. From his first journeys to the years spent living in the coffee region, and eventually the desire to build something meaningful there, the connection grew over time and never left him.

During the creation of Casa Coyaima, you would most often find him on the construction site, rarely far from a tool, an idea to test or a detail to refine. Passionate about coffee and Colombian music, he enjoys talking about a variety grown high in the mountains just as much as sharing a playlist, telling a local story or starting a conversation that often stretches a little longer than expected around a cafecito.

SEBASTIAN

Between two worlds. French-Colombian, Sebastián creates and curates the experiences that bring Casa Coyaima and its region to life. Bridging his two cultures, he connects travellers with an authentic, vibrant and generous Colombia. His playground: local encounters, hidden gems, off-the-beaten-track paths… and everything that allows you to discover Colombia from a different perspective.

ANGELA

Pijao’s smile. Born in Pijao, Ángela has known the region and its people all her life. At Casa Coyaima, she quietly and thoughtfully ensures that every space is spotless and welcoming. Always with a smile, she brings a warm and simple touch to the house, making guests feel at home from the moment they arrive.

ALBERTO

From garden to table. French-Argentinian, Alberto grows much more than vegetables at Casa Coyaima. Passionate about gardening and cooking, he loves growing, experimenting, tasting… and then turning the finca’s harvests into generous, flavourful dishes full of character.

AND ALL THE OTHERS

Because a place like Casa Coyaima is never truly built by just a few people, there is also Alex, Don Honorio, Yon Drey, Duberney and everyone who regularly comes by to lend a hand, share their knowledge, solve an unexpected problem or help move things forward when needed.

Some have been here for a long time, others appear with the seasons or the different projects, but each one leaves a mark on the story of this place. And if everything seems to flow naturally, it is often thanks to all these hands we do not always see, but that make this journey possible every day.
